The Feuding Former Spouses Are Back In Court, Involving “A Smear Campaign”

VIRGINIA (May 19, 2022)– The feuding former spouses are back in Fairfax County Circuit Court for the continuation of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation trial, now in its fifth week.

Thursday the  jury was played a deposition of Johnny Depp’s lawyer Adam Waldman, who allegedly helped the actor mount a “smear” campaign against Amber Heard.

Heard claims Waldman told the press on three occasions in 2020 that she had fabricated her claims of abuse against Depp.

Those three claims are the subject of Heard’s $100 million countersuit against her ex-husband.

Joel Mandel, Depp’s Former Business Manager Testimony:

When asked if the actor — who spent around $300,000 a month on staff alone — ever wrote large checks to charity, Mandel responded in the negative.

“It was more his style to show up at an event or lend his name to something than to write a check,” Mandel said.

Tracey Jacobs, Depp’s Former Talen Agent Testimony

Johnny Depp’s former talent agent Tracey Jacobs said she made him a star only for him to spoil his career and fire her, according to a pre-recorded deposition played for the jury Wednesday.

“He became the biggest star in the world,” Jacobs said.

Amber Heard’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft asked: “Do you take any credit for that?”

Tracey Jacobs

“Yes,” the agent replied, who said she was fired in 2016 because “he terminated essentially everyone in his life and I was along for the ride, I guess.”

She said toward the end of their time together, Depp was “showing up late to set essentially in every movie” and it got around that he was difficult to work with.

Producer Bruce Witkin Testimony About Depp’s Money Woes

Producer Bruce Witkin said his ex-pal Johnny Depp was experiencing money woes and told him he needed to “slow down [his spending] and do more movies.”

Witkin then revealed during his deposition that he was part of Depp’s prior lawsuit against his business management group and was deposed about the actor’s drug and alcohol use.

Witkin said Depp was “not happy” with his testimony, and the two eventually grew distant.

Depp’s Ex-friend Bruce Witkin

The actor allegedly wrote Witkin a text message in 2017, in which he claimed that his friend “stabbed him in the back and badmouthed him.”

“Pretty much I haven’t seen him since 2018,” Witkin said. “I can’t get through to him.”

Depp’s Ex-friend Bruce Witkin Further Testified

Bruce Witkin said he witnessed Johnny Depp snort cocaine for the first time in 2014, and he was surprised because, he said, the actor hated the drug when they were “kids” and would stay away from it.

Witkin also recounted later seeing Depp do cocaine with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry.

Depp’s Former Friend Testified About Depp’s Jealousy

Bruce Witkin, Johnny Depp’s former friend and former relative by marriage, weighed in on his jealousy issues in his relationships through the years.

“He can definitely have a jealous streak in him,” Witkin said of Depp.

He claimed that in his younger days, Depp was jealous of fellow actor Nicolas Cage. He also allegedly exhibited jealous behavior during his relationship with Vanessa Paradis, but Witkin said “a lot of it was in his head and not in reality.”

Witkin said after Depp married Amber Heard, he would “work himself up” if she was filming a movie “with some guy,” or if she was doing something where he could not be around to keep an eye on her.

Heard’s Sister Testified Wednesday

Amber Heard’s baby sister, Whitney Henriquez, took the witness stand Wednesday, telling the jurors that Johnny Depp struck her and called her a “whore” when she found herself in the middle of one of the couple’s blowout fights.

Henriquez, 34, said she personally witnessed Depp hitting Heard — a claim the actor denies.

Henriquez detailed one clash that took place in March 2015 — just one month after Heard and Depp’s wedding — which began when Heard accused her newlywed husband of cheating on her.
