A Texas school district is on lockdown amid reports of an active shooter.
The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District says an active shooter was reported Tuesday at Robb Elementary School. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Earlier, the district said that all schools in the district were locked down because of gunshots in the area.
A Uvalde Police Department dispatcher said the scene was still active and that no other information was immediately available. The department said on Facebook that people should avoid the area because it was an “active police scene.”
School and city officials did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
The district said that the city’s civic center will be used as a reunification center and that parents will be able to pick up their children there once everyone is accounted for.
Uvalde is about 85 miles (135 kilometers) west of San Antonio.

Gov. Gregg Abbott said a gunman killed 14 students and a teacher Tuesday at an elementary school in Uvalde before he was shot and killed by responding law enforcement officers. The shooting took place just two days before school was to be let out for summer break.
Abbott also identified the shooter as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, who was a resident of Uvalde.
Abbott said Ramos entered Robb Elementary School with a handgun and possibly a rifle and “shot and killed horrifically, incomprehensibly.”
According to media reports, Ramos also shot his grandmother prior to showing up at the school.

The shooter at the Robb Elementary School is believed to have murdered his grandmother before going to the school to murder 14 students and their teacher. The students were mostly 2 and 3 graders. Names and motive unknown.

The Justice Department arrested a Salvador Lemus Ramos, also known as Ramo “Eddie,” 39, of Palm Springs, who is also a fugitive, with distributing methamphetamine. The indictment describes a transaction in late 2015 in Cathedral City involving two pounds of methamphetamine where the
buyer was an undercover DEA agent. It is unknown if Ramos is a relative of the Robb Elementary School shooter Salvador Ramos. Story developing.
