WASHINGTON, November 1, 2022– President Joe Biden departed the White House Tuesday, heading to Florida where he has plans to speak on senior issues including Social Security and Medicare. Biden will also attend political events with the state’s Democratic nominees for Senate and governor, who are behind in the latest polls.
Representative Val Deming (D-Fla.) has not been able to get her message across to the voters to defeat incumbent Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.). Rubio’s inflation, crime, border, and high cost of living message is clearer to the voters in Florida. As inflation keeps rising, the Biden administration cannot ignore what people are experiencing in their daily lives at the grocery story and gas stations.
The working class across America are experiencing prices rises in food, gas and electricity—which impacts half of the people in households earning less than $50,000 annually. The average annual salary in Florida is $48,355— which works out to be approximately $23.25 an hour. Most salaries in Florida range between $34,185 to $61,372 annually.
In a Gallup poll seventy one percent of households earn less than $40,000, reported that inflation was causing them severe (28) or moderate (42%) hardship. The Biden administration can no longer ignore the hardship of the American people–while only 29% of households earning more than $100,000 reported severe (2%) or moderate (26%) hardship.
With a week until Election Day, President Biden is heading to Florida, where he plans to warn what Republican policies could mean for the voters, but both Houses are controlled by Democrats.
The President will participate in a reception for gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist in Golden Beach, Florida. Biden will also participate in a political event for the Democratic Party, senatorial candidate Val Demings, and gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist at Florida Memorial University.
