ISRAEL, November 1, 2022—For the 5th election in four years, Israelis went to the polls, and elected former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to lead the Nation.
Exit polls by Israeli media gave former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his nationalist and religious allies a slight edge early Wednesday, but the final tally could change as the official count is conducted.
Netanyahu said on Twitter earlier “Likud representative in the Central Election Committee, Adv. Ilan Bombach: I reported this evening to the chairman of the election committee and the representative of the police in the Knesset about a long list of dozens of unusual cases that allegedly happened this evening in the Arab sector, which include serious incidents of violence, takeover of polling stations, attempts at forgeries and serious distortions of the voter’s will.”
According to the polls, Netanyahu’s bloc crossed 62 seats, while Lapid’s bloc fell to 53.
