JAPAN, November 29, 2023 (Bee News Daily)—At least one person was killed Wednesday after a US military Osprey aircraft crashed off the coast of Japan’s Yakushima Island in southern Kagoshima prefecture, according to a spokesperson from the Japan Coast Guard.
It’s not been confirmed which U.S. Base the aircraft was flying from, but it was believed to be heading to Kadena Air Base in Okinawa.
Six people were on board the aircraft that crashed off the Japan’s Yakushima Island, the Coast Guard said. Previously, officials said eight people had been on board.
