Secretary of the Army Reinstates Wreaths Across America

ARLINGTON, VA—today Secretary of the Army Ryan D. McCarthy “directed Arlington National Cemetery to safely host Wreaths Across America, via a tweet.   “We appreciate the families and visitors who take time to honor and remember those who are laid to rest at our nation’s most hallowed ground, added Secretary Ryan in a tweet.

Democrat lawmakers, local government, public health officials and Arlington Cemetery officials objected to the Wreaths Across America and alleged that the cemetery  “could not implement sufficient controls to mitigate the risks associated with hosting an event of this size … while still conducting a respectful and honorable public event.” Secretary Ryan disagreed.

The event to take place as scheduled on  Dec. 19, 2020  across America.

“Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad, said Wreaths Across America.
