FLORIDA, November 11, 2024 (Bee News Daily) — President-elect Donald Trump announced late Sunday that Tom Homan, his former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), will serve as the “border czar” in his incoming administration.
“I am pleased to announce that former ICE Director, and staunch advocate for border control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration to oversee our Nation’s Borders,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
Homan, a key figure in Trump’s tough stance on immigration, was widely expected to take on a prominent role related to the border and the president-elect’s pledge to launch the largest deportation operation in U.S. history.
In addition to overseeing security along the southern and northern borders, as well as maritime and aviation security, Trump stated that Homan would be responsible for “all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin,” a central tenet of Trump’s immigration agenda.
Trump expressed confidence in Homan’s ability to carry out the role, saying he had “no doubt” Homan “will do a fantastic, and long-awaited, job.”
Such a role does not require Senate confirmation.
In a recent interview on Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Futures, Homan clarified that the military would not be involved in rounding up and arresting immigrants living in the U.S. illegally. He emphasized that ICE would carry out Trump’s immigration plans in a “humane manner,” focusing on enforcement while respecting due process.
“It’s going to be a precise, well-coordinated operation carried out by the men and women of ICE. They do this kind of work every day, and they’re experts at it,” he said. “When we go out, we’ll know exactly who we’re targeting and likely where to find them. And it will be done humanely.”
Earlier this year, at the National Conservatism Conference in Washington, Homan voiced frustration over media coverage of a mass deportation effort.
“Wait until 2025,” he said. “While I believe national security threats should be the priority, no one is off the table. If you’re here illegally, you should be looking over your shoulder.”
He added, “You have my word—if Trump returns to office in January, I’ll be right there with him, and we will execute the largest deportation operation this country has ever seen.”
Incoming Border Czar Tom Homan said on social media, Monday, “I’ve seen some of these Democrat governors say they’re going to stand in the way [of deportations] and make it hard for us. A suggestion: If you’re not going to help us, get the hell out of the way because we’re going to do it.”
Trump’s newly appointed border czar, Tom Homan, has vowed to locate and rescue the over 300,000 missing children from the Harris-Biden administration through a major child rescue operation.
Meanwhile, Trump has pledged that his deportation effort will surpass the scale of President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s historic operation.
