NATIONAL NEWS, White House (Bee News Daily) — President Trump is urging Russia to end the war in Ukraine by making a deal. He emphasizes his positive relationship with the Russian people and President Putin, despite political tensions. Trump acknowledges Russia’s significant sacrifices during World War II and expresses his desire to help Russia by ending the conflict.

He warns that if a deal isn’t reached soon, he will impose high taxes, tariffs, and sanctions on Russian goods sold to the U.S. and other countries. Trump believes that the war would not have started if he were president and stresses the importance of stopping the war to prevent further loss of lives.
Ukraine and Russia had different reactions to President Trump’s statement urging an end to the war.
Ukraine: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed cautious optimism about the potential for negotiations but emphasized the need for a fair and just resolution that respects Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Zelenskyy reiterated that any deal must include the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.
Russia: The Kremlin, through President Vladimir Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, acknowledged Trump’s statement but expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of additional sanctions and tariffs. Peskov stated that Russia is open to dialogue but emphasized that any negotiations must address Russia’s security concerns and the root causes of the conflict.
