Georgetown Hoyas Take It To The Hoop With Coach Ewing As The Big East Tournament Champions

NEW YORK, NY (March 13, 2021)—tonight basketball great and Georgetown Hoyas’ coach Patrick Ewing–who once played at Madison Square Garden wins the Big East Tournament defeating Creighton 73-48.

But this game is more than a win–its a memory of Coach George Thompson who was hired by the Hoyas 39 years ago who is smiling down on Coach Ewing!

Georgetown is back in the NCAA tournament as a No 13 seet. And this time it’s with program legend Patrick Ewing as its head coach.

The Hoyas, the No. 8 seed in the Big East tournament, squared off with No. 17 Creighton in the championship game on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, an arena which asked Ewing for an identification —after calling the Gardens home for 15 years as a member of the Knicks..
