CITY OF WASHINGTON, D.C.—today the D.C. Fire and EMS Department tweeted “Reagan Grimes, the 7 year old shot 4 days ago, was reunited with the crew that helped save her life at Engine 27 in Deanwood. ” The added “officers are happy to see she’s doing well, and were able to give her some gifts..”

The 7 year old was shot while riding her scooter Saturday in the chest. Initially, police said her injuries were life-threatening, but on Tuesday, just three days later, she was released from intensive care and allowed to go home Wednesday.
Reagan said her mother and grandmother told her how many people were praying for her and that it made her happy.
“Thank you for praying for me when I was in the hospital,” Reagan said.
