France: Turnout Low For The First Round Of Regional Elections

FRANCE (June 20, 2021)—-today France went to the polls  for the first round of regional elections.  “Turnout low as France votes in first round—.”  According to reports–the left is fragmented.

Very low turnout figures compared to the figures in 2015.  Turnout today is 26.72 percent have turned out–far less than the regional elections in  2015 the turnout was at 42 percent. France has seen a significant  drop–a high record extension is predicted–the abstentions could be as high as 68 percent, more than 2/3 voters not bothering to show up, reported by FRANCE 24.

The COVID-19 may have played a part in the voters enthusiasm.
