Biden Released Statement Following Republican Senators and Members Demands For The People In Cuba

FLORIDA (July 12, 2021)—following more than 24 hours of Cuba oppression protest, President Joe Biden has finally issued a statement about Cuba “The Cuban people are bravely asserting fundamental and universal rights. Those rights, including the right of peaceful protest and the right to freely determine their own future, must be respected,” Mr. Biden said in a statement. “The United States calls on the Cuban regime to hear their people and serve their needs at this vital moment rather than enriching themselves.”

Governor Ron DeSantis issued a statement “Florida supports the people of Cuba as they take to the streets against the tyrannical regime in Havana. The Cuban dictatorship has repressed the people of Cuba for decades & is now trying to silence those who have the courage to speak out against its disastrous policies”

Several Republican Members in both Houses of Congress released several statements prior to Biden’s released statement including Senators Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and others.

Senator John Barrasso tweeted “The United States supports the Cuban people in their fight for freedom. The authoritarian regime’s suppression of its people must end. Freedom will always win.”

Senator Rick Scott and former Governor of Florida tweeted “The brave people of #Cuba are taking a stand. Communism doesn’t work and the people know it. I stand with the Cuban people fighting for freedom and democracy. The Biden Administration must be unequivocal in its support of those fighting for better lives.”

The Oppression Protest:

The people of Cuba said “Freedom is everything.” We support the Cuban people in their fight for freedom in Cuba, said supporters from around the World.
