Live: Trudeau, Legault make aerospace announcement in Montreal

CANADA (July 15, 2021)—Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will make an aerospace announcement and hold a media availability alongside Quebec Premier François Legault on Thursday. They will be joined by Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages Mélanie Joly, Quebec’s Minister of Finance and Minister of Economy and Innovation Éric Girard, President and Chief Executive Officer of CAE Inc. Marc Parent, President of Pratt & Whitney Canada Maria Della Posta, and President of Bell Textron Canada Ltd. Steve Lavoie. Trudeau was in Quebec’s Gaspé region on Wednesday where he announced a $25-million investment for the expansion of General Electric’s LM Wind Power plant. The manufacturing plant produces rotor blades for wind mills. The $170-million expansion will allow the factory to produce much larger blades for export to Europe and the United States, Trudeau said.
