WASHINGTON, DC, April 18, 2024 (Bee News Daily) — Venus, Earth’s closest neighboring planet is leaking carbon and oxygen into space, mystifying scientists. The planet most likely has some type of life living on the planet–but it will remain a mystery because the planet is 155.4 million miles from Earth. The planet has a temperature 800.67 degrees Fahrenheit which makes it almost impossible for humans on Earth to survive, in addition to sulfuric acid. Venus is one of the less explored planets in the cosmos.
Venus is the second planet from the Sun, but it’s the hottest in the solar system!
Venus‘s high temperature is caused by its extremely thick carbon dioxide atmosphere. The Sun’s energy heats the planet to constant temperatures over 800.67 degrees.
Carbon and oxygen, among other gases, are being stripped from Venus’ atmosphere after being accelerated to speeds fast enough to escape the planet’s gravity, according to a new study in the journal Nature Astronomy.
